Before buying anything, sketch the plan on paper — it takes ten minutes and catches almost every mistake:

  • 1. Measure the island (length and width) and note the ceiling height above it.
  • 2. Mark where the junction box sits — the rail must start there or reach it with connectors.
  • 3. Draw the rail line parallel to the island, centered over it, and mark head positions using the spacing table above.
  • 4. Write one target next to every head (prep / sink / cooktop / shelves). Any head without a target gets deleted, not kept.
