Installed track lighting in my office last month. Took longer than expected but mostly because the instructions that came with it were useless. Figured I'd write down what I actually did in case it helps someone. DON'T buy random pieces and assume they fit. I did that. Two different brands. The connectors didn't match. Had to return everything and start over. So yeah—stick to one brand for all the parts. My setup ended up being L-shaped. One arm over the desk, the other pointing at a frame on the wall....
